Dengie Healthy Hooves Molasses Free

Horse owners that have equines susceptible to laminitis will already be monitoring their turnout well before spring has sprung! Mild, wet winters mean that the grass will have been growing in the winter months too so there will already be plenty of it! Prevention is certainly better than cure when it comes to weight gain as being overweight or obese can have serious health and welfare consequences.

Dengie Healthy Hooves Molasses Free is approved by the Laminitis Trust and has been developed to help equines that are overweight. It can be used as a “calorie controlled diet” for horses and ponies that are prone to laminitis, Equine Metabolic Syndrome or PPID (Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction formerly known as Cushing’s Disease) and is ideal for those that are in light work or at rest.

It is a nutritionally balanced fibre feed that is low in calories and starch that contains no added sugar and is designed to provide a balanced diet when fed at the recommended quantities. The feed has been carefully formulated to utilise the natural properties of alfalfa which gives slow release energy, alongside other low-glycaemic fibres. Alfalfa also offers naturally occurring, highly bioavailable essential nutrients such as calcium and additional minerals including zinc, manganese and copper are also included.

B vitamins, including Biotin, are added to help with building healthy hooves and palatability is enhanced with real garlic. It is free from artificial preservatives and flavours and is subject to rigorous testing as part of Dengie’s on-going commitment to producing the best, safe and scientifically proven feeds for your horse or pony.

Feed Dengie Healthy Hooves Molasses Free if your horse or pony is prone to weight related conditions including laminitis, EMS or PPID, has poor hoof condition or requires a low sugar and starch diet.
