HorseWorld supporter raises over £7,000 baking cakes

A supporter of horse rescue charity HorseWorld has raised over £7,000 with her legendary homemade cakes. Shirley Woods has been supporting the charity for over 20 years and has been baking and selling her cakes at HorseWorld’s events to raise funds for the charity’s rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming work with neglected, abandoned and mistreated horses, ponies and donkeys.

“Shirley’s cakes have always been something to look forward to and have raised vital funds for the charity at almost every event for as long as anyone can remember. We are so grateful for all of her efforts,” said HorseWorld’s volunteer co-ordinator Becky Hopkins.

HorseWorld has an Open Day on Saturday 29th April, and the team are looking for other supporters who also might be able to make cakes for this event. If you think you may be able to help, please call 01275 893035 or email Volunteering@horseworld.org.uk
