Free stabling at Bicton Arena International

Free stabling at Bicton Arena International and a fund raising hog roast!

Bicton Arena is offering free stabling to all competitors in the CIC* and CIC** classes at its International Horse trials which take place on August 19 -21. Each competitor will also be given two free bales of Zebra bedding per stable. Stabling for all other horses will cost just £20 per night.

Organiser Helen West, who has represented Great Britain at the Junior and Young Rider European Championships, winning team Gold at Waregem, Belgium in 2001, said she hoped that by offering free stabling, more competitors will be encouraged to head to Devon to compete.

“Having ridden at the higher levels, I understand how the costs can mount up, and when you factor in the entry fee with stabling and diesel it can be an expensive weekend. This is just a small way that Bicton Arena can help to reduce the cost and we hope that people take advantage of it,” she said.

A hog roast and music on Saturday, August 20 will be held in aid of The Eventing Family with proceeds donated to its named charities of Hannah’s Wilberry Wonder Pony, Cancer Research UK, the Spinal Research, Teenage Cancer Trust and Motor Neurone Disease Association. There will be a welcome drinks reception for all, and those wishing to stay on for the Hog Roast and music can buy tickets costing £10 per person.

The Horse Trials main sponsors are Rathbones, Equine H and Empire Coach Builders and the event will be supported by Kastner Volvo who provide courtesy cars.

Entry is free on Friday and £10 per Car on Saturday and Sunday. For more information visit www.bictonarena.co.uk.
