Taking the leap

Making the decision to affiliate with British Eventing may seem daunting. But it doesn’t have to be. Stepping up to BE competition is easier than you think.

Eventing is the ultimate equestrian challenge, testing skill in the dressage phase, bravery in the cross country and precision in the showjumping. The sport has over 12,000 members taking part in 180 scheduled events all over the UK with nearly 94,000 entries per season – and a good deal of these entries will also be first timers, so what’s stopping your from joining them!

Getting into eventing doesn’t have to be complicated. BE has a number of options to get you up and running:

Whether you’re a member or not the Airowear sponsored BE 80(T) will give you a perfect introduction into competitive eventing. It couldn’t be easier for non-members. The day pass membership is £10 and after that, a training passes can be purchased. The format of the BE80(T) give you a feel of the sport in a relaxed and educational environment. Remember there is a BE Accredited Coach there to offer advice free of charge to all!
